Got something to share? Been working on an interesting project? Have a great tip or lesson learned that has made your life easier?

We’re keen to hear from people that use CiviCRM day to day as well as others working in related areas. If you have something that will resonate with our audience, we’d love to hear from you!

Example topics

Here are some examples of the kind of content we are looking for. But don’t let these ideas restrict your thinking we are keen to hear about whatever is on your mind and anything that you think our audience would find valuable.

  • Case study – How does your organisation use CiviCRM. What do you do? How has CiviCRM helped? What have you learned along the way?
  • Tips and tricks – Explain how to tackle a particular challenge in CiviCRM (for example audience segmentation, AB testing, membership management and so on creating public directories, etc.) What approaches work well? What lesser known features are helpful?
  • Extension showcase – Talk us through an extension – what problems does it solve? What is the back story? How have organisations benefited from it?How can people can get started with it?

Session guidelines

  • Aim your talk at CiviCRM users – Not developers or implementors. Our primary audience is users of CiviCRM – make sure your talk is accessible to them.
  • Focus on a single issue – Time is limited and there won’t be enough time to cover multiple topics in detail – instead focus on a single idea or learning point.
  • Don’t assume background knowledge – Explain all new concepts and only get technical towards the end of your talk if necessary.
  • Don’t pitch or sell your services – These slots are for sharing knowledge and experience, not for selling proprietary products or services.
  • Keep it inclusive – Please make sure your language and any images you use are welcoming to everyone – please read our code of conduct for more background.

Timekeeping

Aim for a 15 minutes talk with 5 minutes at the end for questions.

We will give you time warnings at 10, 5 and 1 minutes. Due to the number of speakers, we will need you to finish your talk prompty when your time is up.

⚡Lightning talks

Not quite ready to fill up a whole session? Consider submitting a lightning talk instead. Lightning talks are fun five minute rapid-fire talks aimed to get your ideas across quickly. We’ll pack as many as we can into a one hour session just before lunch.

On the day

A moderator will introduce your session and help field questions from the audience. Please introduce yourself to the moderator before your session starts.

Please bring your own laptop with an HDMI connector. We’ll connect you up while the previous presenter is answering questsions.
